What you need to know about liability insurance

There are a lot of car and auto insurance terms thrown at you when you’re looking for vehicle insurance. Some of them you might know, some you might not. However, it’s best to have some knowledge regarding the most common terms, and one of those terms is liability insurance or liability car insurance coverage.

If an accident takes place that is your fault, you are responsible (liable) for any injuries or property damage that results from that accident. Thus, liability insurance or liability coveragepays for bodily injury to another person or damage to another person’s property.

Why is it so important to have liability coverage that it’s required by law? It’s expensive to fix the human body and repair damaged property. If left up to an individual to cover such expenses after an accident, many could not afford to do so.

How much you will have to pay for liability coverage depends on the state in which you reside based on the required coverage limits for that state.
